Powerful 3D Terrain Creation for Archicad Users
Architerra offers ArchiCAD users a powerful solution for creating and managing 3D terrain models. It works especially well on large sites and makes it easy to insert roads, plateaus, buildings, and other elements. Moreover, it streamlines the entire terrain-modeling workflow, allowing designers to work faster and visualize their site more clearly.
The tool originally emerged from a specific need among ArchiCAD users: efficiently building and controlling complex tridimensional land models. Since then, Architerra has evolved considerably. Today, it enables users to draw their own site or import data from DXF, Text, or Shape files. In addition, they can analyze and edit the terrain’s morphology in both 2D and 3D.
New in Architerra 6
Road
- A brand-new, dedicated interface replaces the Object Settings window, making adjustments smoother and more intuitive.
- Users can now link the road to a reference line for much easier modifications.
- The road can also be detached from the reference line for freeform editing.
- Road thickness is fully adjustable.
- Custom road profiles are supported.
- Reference lines can be copied or offset for quicker drafting.
Curb and Ditch
- A redesigned interface gathers all settings into a single window.
- Curbs and ditches can follow the road’s reference line and update automatically when the road changes.
Railway
- The railway tool also receives its own interface.
- It can now be linked to a reference line to simplify adjustments dramatically.
Gradient
- Slope values are now displayed not only as percentages but also as ratios.
New in Architerra 5
- Support for Archicad 23–28.
- Slope-area display on floor plans, including color indicators for easier interpretation.
- Improved road handling thanks to route-line associativity, which keeps the route line connected to the road.
- Ability to add new breakpoints along a placed road.
- Smoother breakpoint rounding similar to polyline behavior.
- Option to remove segments between breakpoints.
- Automatic road updates after any route-line adjustments.
- Offset tools for adjusting road placement relative to the route line.
- Road-surface fill options for customized visual styles.
- A new Junction tool for placing junctions and roundabouts.
- Manual placement through a reference point
- Automatic placement at road intersections
- Manual editing for improved visual alignment
- Automatic section updates without manual refreshing
- Updated high-resolution icons for clearer visuals.
- A new listing format that summarizes required earthwork more efficiently.
