Description
Archicad and Revit are the two most used BIM tools for Architects and Engineers. For successful data exchange between fields interoperability and collaboration is a must. Exporting and importing models to and from each software is necessary, otherwise the benefits of BIM are diminished and not used to its full extend.
Although BIM is become the norm in the AEC industry in Cyprus, BIM modelers and authors have not yet expanded their horizons effectively by exchanging data externally with the use of the two most used BIM tool, Archicad and Revit. Therefore, gaps in communication are still evident when parties of a project use different software. With Archicad - Revit Data Exchange, a bridge is crossed closing the gap of miscommunication, which leads to less mistakes on site and reduces costs and timelines for projects to be completed.

Renders are an indispensable tool in the field of construction. They give existing clients a three-dimensional representation of the project before the actual construction, allow the project execution team and clients to clearly and easily communicate their ideas, and promote projects for sale to new clients.
During this training participants will develop knowledge, skills and abilities in the export of BIM models project and then in the processing of the model in 3D visualization software, in order to create advanced visualized representations of the model (renders) in printed and digital format.

Description
During this seminar we will see how we can model a BIM project based on information received from Point Clouds. Point clouds are made up of a set of points located in a three-dimensional coordinate system, that when put together give an impression of the surface of an object, or the façade of a building. Point Clouds can then be used as the foundation and reference of the BIM Modelling project. Point clouds are a relatively new feature for the AEC industry.
They provide powerful support for any industry, or project that depends on taking accurate measurements. They streamline workflows, improve communication and provide significant efficiency.

Description
Within the scope of the program participants will develop knowledge, skills, and abilities in creating and updating templates within the Archicad software.
Archicad template files are the main body of a BIM project for a company where Archicad is the main tool. Using templates eases the workload and increases efficiency and productivity. They contribute to saving time and reducing costs, as it creates a stable structure for the company/business. Having a defined structure that is already built and used by the whole team is extremely cost-effective since standardization is a vital part of a project and eliminates human error. This allows the project team to spend more time designing and documenting the project instead of having to recreate composites/schedules/publisher sets etc. at the start of each new project.
DESCRIPTION OF CANDIDATES FOR PARTICIPATION
Architects, interior and exterior designers, engineers, quantity surveyors, project managers, technical staff, designers and foremen, who have moderate to excellent knowledge of Archicad and BIM methodologies.

Description
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a digital representation of physical and functional characteristics of a facility. It serves as a shared knowledge resource for information about a facility that is a reliable basis for decisions throughout its life cycle from inception onwards. A key premise of BIM is the collaboration of different stakeholders at different phases of a facility's life cycle to import, export, update or modify information in BIM to support and reflect the roles of the stakeholders. The BIM model is a shared digital representation of the project. The overall purpose of BIM Education is to provide opportunities for stakeholders in the construction industry to develop new skills, add necessary knowledge, explore new discoveries and techniques that strengthen their practical skills, and change their attitudes and behaviours, adapting to them constantly. Through BIM training, collaborative methods are developed, reducing time and costs in construction.

Description
BIMx is a professional BIM project viewer and communication tool featuring BIMx Hyper-model, a unique technology for integrated 2D & 3D project navigation. BIMx Hyper-models offer extremely smooth handling and outstanding performance even for projects with complex/large 3D building models and excessive 2D documentation. BIMx is the perfect tool to communicate your designs to clients, on-site builders, and other team members that are at another location, allowing viewers to browse both the 3D model as well as the 2D documentation without having any browser-plugin to download or software to install.
It helps BIM modellers to bridge the gap between the design studio and the construction site, since it enables the generation of plans, elevations and sections from a single source, which speeds up coordination, and reduces the likelihood of errors; allowing us to check for clashes and/or problems.

Description
With BIM evolving more and more every day, industry standards are constantly evolving and demanding more from construction documentation.
BIM documentation is fundamental to BIM and is required at various stages depending on the project life cycle as documented in the ISO 19650 standard.
BIM-specific documents provide project or owner/manager information that ensures the entire project team is aligned. This helps the team understand how data flow and management is generated and shared throughout the project lifecycle.
Projects with coordinated BIM documentation have more efficient results. This is due to the adherence to a clear and concise set of documents that are produced at the beginning of the project and since we are constantly adapting to the needs of the project, they are automatically updated with the changes of the project. Accurate BIM documentation provides a stable structure to ensure the delivery of a BIM compliant project. Because of this, we can ensure that the project team is provided with the right data flow and management throughout the project lifecycle. Without BIM Authoring, the model is nothing more than a 3D model outside of BIM standards.
Participants will develop specialized capabilities in documenting and creating construction details at an advanced BIM Author level via the Archicad software.
Description of candidates for participation
Architects, interior and exterior designers, engineers, quantity surveyors, project managers, technical staff, designers and foremen who are well versed within Archicad software and BIM methodologies.

Description
During the schematic design phase of a project Design Options are the basis of the relationship between client and company. At later stages, Design Options are a collection of possible solutions to a design problem. Managing them can be time consuming, complicated, and often inefficient therefore Design Option Workflows are imperative to keeping a consistent high standard within a company.
Traditional workflows on how to manage different design options have been proven inefficient and costly to both client and company. With the Design Options Tools and Workflows within Archicad that are now due to the constant evolution of BIM, we can now provide flexibility, consistency and agility. The management and choice of the Design Option tools we use are often project specific, therefore a complete understanding of the when and why we used each feature is crucial.
